*Take the survey below and respond in the comments section or email to studioappal@gmail.com

Produced by Appal Media/Studio Appalachia

Welcome Appalachian Author, Artist, Musician and Citizen and thank you for supporting the Appalachian Restoration Project. Please send your interview responses in the comments section below or to studioappal@gmail.com for inclusion in the ARP blog. Last names will be withheld for privacy. The goals of this project are to give Appalachians an opportunity to redefine culture from within as opposed to having it done for us from outside sources. The notion of “restoration” involves transforming a damaged sense of identity internally that has taken on the distortions of outside claims of inferiority and abuse. This is also a non-profit effort. Participants may be either native born or “transplanted” Appalachians.

-Describe your contribution/work in the Appalachian region.
-What is your perception of Appalachia?
-Is change needed internally within Appalachia regarding our culture’s self-perception?
-How do we challenge damaging stereotypes of Appalachia?
-How does your region of Appalachia inspire you?

Thank you for taking the time for this interview today.
-T. Byron Kelly
